L.A.X‘
exit from the Wizkid-led Starboy Entertainment label was greeted with
mixed reaction. His affiliation to the international pop star scored him
perhaps two of his biggest career songs, Caro and Ginger.
So when he ‘moved on’ many believed it was pretty much the end of his
career. Some others wondered why he would just sign up to for a downward
slope especially at a time when it appeared that his career was picking
up, although quite gradually. This was 2016.
Fast forward to 2018, and L.A.X is still the deal. So shame to the haters! With his self-owned label outfit already established, a debut album
already in the worksawaiting a release date, a gang of loyal followers (I call them Rasakites, of which I’m a proud member, lol) and a variety of commercially acclaimed music singles, with the latest being “Panana”
which was released only two weeks ago, L.A.X is certainly not at his
zenith of success yet but he is indeed happy about his career trajectory
and the process this upward projection is taking him through.
